Some more stupid things to ponder.

Black and White photos.

Come on people. I know people that do this think they are creating art. Sure they are. Here is what I think. There are a lot of people out there that are color blind so why would you create something like black and white photos that they see their whole life? Not only that the WORLD is in living color. Why would you want to create something that is a negative of the world. Again, I know you think you are creating art and like the BS in literature, if you have to explain it then what is the point.

I always loved literature except when they said this has so much meaning or symbolism. Sure. And again if you have to explain it to the reader then what is the point?

Much like walking through an art gallery and you look at a canvas full of paint and someone has to tell you what you are seeing or what the artist was trying to represent. Come on man.

Speaking of black and white, how about film noir. This is a load of crap. They made these back in the day before color movies and as color was coming into use. Most of these movies were cheap and not worthy of the expense of color film so they used black and white. These people making the movie didn’t even know what they were creating and had no idea what film noir was. Now a lot of these movies are “classic” film noir.  I know it encompasses a little more than being black and white but most of what you hear is BS of the snobs and high brows.

Vinyl records.

This is the latest thing, to collect vinyl records. What morons these people are. Just because someone else does it and you need to be cool then you start collecting them. WTF are people thinking? I was never so glad for first 8 track tapes and later cassettes and finally CDs.

Records get scratched thereby causing snaps, crackles and pops. Then there is the dust and the static electricity and on and on. There are so many negatives to records and that is why the tape and then the CD came along. Also the needle is ridiculous. It goes in the grooves thereby scratching it too.

Then there was all the BS with which is better belt drive or direct drive. Like it made a difference. Now people are playing them on record players that kids would have used.

I was watching a movie and one of the characters was playing a record and says, “listen you can almost hear their heartbeats.” He is talking about the musicians. Come on this is fantasy BS.

Lastly the CD is as close to the original sound as it gets. It is almost perfect sound. AND nothing interferes with that. I am sure some nerd will tell me I am wrong but remember you are a nerd and most of the BS you can tell me is just that, BS.

How about Blue Ray movies and DVDs.

I see no difference here. I have both and one seems as good as the other. High Definition TVs and DVD players along with Blue Ray players all seem the same to me when you play them. There seems to be no significant difference. Again someone will spout statistics or specifications to tell you there is a difference but if the eye can’t see it then what is the point. AND I am sure people will say I can tell the difference and maybe they can but I can’t.

Now Ultra High Definition TVs, specifically Samsung has a picture that is to die for. To me the picture is so much better it seems to glow. It is a significant difference that you can tell if you look at a Samsung and other TVs next to each other. And they are not all the same. I have a Vizio 47 inch wide screen TV and the picture is really good but when I look at the Samsung UHD TV against a Vizio UHD TV the Samsung wins.
